Men in Black 3 will be released as the sequel to Men in Black II on May 25, 2012, ten years after its predecessor. It will also star Josh Brolin and Jemaine Clement, with Barry Sonnenfeld returning as director, and Steven Spielberg returning as executive producer.
Men in Black 3 is the third entry in the Men in Black film series which is based on the Malibu comic book series The Men in Black by Lowell Cunningham.
Principal photography began in New York City on November 16, 2010.

In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right.
J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

Men in Black 3 was first announced on April 1, 2009, by Sony Pictures Entertainment president Rory Bruer during a Sony ShoWest presentation. By October 2009, Etan Cohen had been hired to write the screenplay. As of March 2010, Will Smith remained undecided whether to join this film or another, The City That Sailed. Director Barry Sonnenfeld in May 2010 confirmed the return of the protagonists played by Tommy Lee Jones and Smith. Both had expressed interest in 2008 in reprising their roles. Other staff includes Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald as producers, with Steven Spielberg as executive producer; all were producers of the two previous films.
The first set photos for Men in Black 3 turned up online on November 17, 2010 showing Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Emma Thompson, and Nicole Scherzinger on set. Shooting was scheduled to resume from March through June 2011. Filming was done in April 2011 in the Morris Park section of The Bronx. Parts of Coney Island, in Brooklyn, had parking and filming permits posted for April 24 and May 2-4, 2011, production dates of what the permits titled MIB³.
Nicole Scherzinger has made minor appearances as an actress. She appeared in the TV comedy, Half & Half, My Wife and Kids and the 2003 film, Love Don’t Cost a Thing. She also had a role in 2001 as one of the “Pop Stars” in the episode, “Finally!”, of the show Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, in Wanda at Large, Chasing Papi, Be Cool and Cane. Scherzinger was intended to be cast in one of the lead roles in the upcoming movie with the Filipino Boxing Champion, Manny Pacquiao, together with professional wrestler, Dave Batista. She was about to play the leading lady of the Filipino Champ, but her audition was cancelled and the role went to the Filipina actress, Ruffa Mae Quinto. She also made an appearance in the Nickelodeon show, Big Time Rush, as herself. In 2010 Scherzinger appeared in the How I Met Your Mother episode “Glitter”, as Robin Scherbatsky’s former best friend, Jessica Glitter. She has also recorded a version of “GoldenEye” — the theme song of the 1995 Bond film GoldenEye — for the 2010 video game GoldenEye 007. Men in Black 3 will be her biggest film role to date.
Alice Sophia Eve, an English actress, is known for her lead in She’s Out of My League and also appeared in Sex and the City 2. She will also star in the up-coming The Decoy Bride.
William “Bill” Hader is best known for his work as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and for his supporting roles in comedy films such as Superbad, Hot Rod, Tropic Thunder, Adventureland, Paul, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
